I've upgrades to 9.10. Beautiful install with upgrades complete but system will lockup every once in a while. Never happened before with previous versions.
I simply softboot and don't lose anything but it is still annoying.
Does anyone know why?

You probably have an older ATI Radeon GPU. Try turning off the desktop effects and your system should be stable.

Disabled desktop effects but system still stops. Mouse stays working!
Help?

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm just browsing the web, clicking a link, and boom. System frozen. Mouse moves, but does not respond to any commands at all, I need to shut it down manually.

I'm using the integrated chipset stuff on a Compaq Evo D510S, running Ubuntu 9.10.

Hope a solution can be found. ;) Otherwise, loving it so far!
