View Full Version : [all variants] Question about Ethernet controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. kernel compatability

November 13th, 2009, 11:33 PM

I have been trying to sort out an ethernet connection for the past 5 days since installing 9.10. Not very impressed. The thing is, I actually had a working ethernet connection with Ubuntu 7.0.4, which I installed before putting 9.10 on, despite all the other problems.

I am a bit pissed off with all the bugs on Karmic, so I was wondering if anyone knows which kernel was the one that started causing the bug with the Ethernet controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6102 [Rhine-II] (rev 78 )? And which other distros use that kernel?
