While this might not be a Mythbuntu question, I am using my Mythbuntu computer to try and get the TV stations from the next city over. My new LCD TV w/tuner can pull them in with the same antenna from it's location, but when I hook up the pc-HDTV5500 card (and put the antenna in my attic, I can't get the station I want.

I have noticed that reception is better at night, and I haven't waited until then yet, but I would like to be able to get it above 50% signal strength any time during the day or night.

I have a directional antenna that is pretty basic, but it worked on my new LCD TV when it was directly connected to it. I also currently get one of two other stations that are very away, but one may be broadcasting at a higher wattage.

5.1 58% 215-SW 50.4 miles RF channel( 35 )
14.1 12% 216-SW 51.3 miles RF channel( 28 )

Do signal boosters/amplifiers work? Should I just buy another big antenna?

I have one of these already for one tuner (and it gets two distant channels that aren't in the same direction)

I don't know the answer to your question, but if you go for anotherone, then check it out here: http://www.affordablehdtv.com/terrestrial-digital-db8-multidirectional-hdtv-antenna-p-7.html
Can get it for about 2/3 of what BestBuy wants....

The other question I have is, is there any way to have MythTV remember to use tuner 1 for channels 1,2,3 and use tuner 2 for channels x,y,z when watching live TV?

I know I can set the tuner for it to use when recording.

Thanks!

I know I didn't pay that much the last time I bought it.

I am actually looking at getting a more powerful antenna. While the DB8 works, I want the biggest antenna I can buy. I'm not sure if it will help pull in any more channels however.
