Hi i am using the Upgrade Manager in Ubuntu 9.04 to upgrade to version 9.10. And it went for a while and did relatively well until it said "Setting up ifupdown (0.6.8ubuntu21) . . . " and everything STOPPED. The keyboard stopped working and won't turn on any [more] lights, (caps lock, num lock), the mouse's laser thing on the bottom turned blue and it stopped working (it's plugged into onboard USB) and nothing seems to be apparently changing according to the monitor. I am afraid to use the emergency shutdown lest it screw up Ubuntu because setup is still running. What can I do? Just wait? Thanks in advance!

Solved. I reinstalled Ubuntu. Oh dear, I never thought that would have to happen...
