This function you can choose when you install Ubuntu, to make Windows accounts available, what does that actually do? I got the impression when I made a new installation with this feature for the first time last night that it had actually copied the stuff in my XP partition's Pictures and Music folders, for example, along with importing my Internet Explorer favourites into Ubuntu's Firefox. I don't really want these files duplicated, and had imagined beforehand that it just set up a link so that those files were available without mounting the Windows partition.
Choosing that option was the first time my Ubuntu installing had ever reported a crash along the way too. I'm going to install again in a minute without importing XP stuff, but with 10.04 LTS I will try this function again if replies here give an explanation that suits me.
