Desktop's Icons' position

Hi, i am new... I don't speak english very well...

I use ubuntu 8.04 whith gnome, without compiz or other effect.

Hi look for save my desktop's icons' positions. Where is the information of the icons position?
how to save in a file with human readable format?

This is for move my icon from desktop and after restore to desktop with rigth older position.
