View Full Version : [kubuntu] getting rid of momentary pre-login x background

Hi,

A standard Kubuntu Karmic install boots up into a kdm login screen with the bluish background with bubbles. I prefer a backgroundless login screen (i.e., just a login window over a black background). Doing this isn't hard (in system settings). However, just before the kdm login screen appears, I still, just for a moment, see the default Karmic login screen with the bluish background. I guess the developers put this (transitional X-windows background?) in to make the transition from boot screen to kdm as smooth as possible. However, it just doesn't fit in my setup and I want to get rid of it. How do I do this?
