Cod4 issues. please help

So I have Ubuntu 8.10, i took all last night intalling cod4 with wine. now that i got the game on it says i cannot play it with my video card, becuase its "not supported" i played cod4 on my laptop before with win.Vista, and it worked fine until the game "blue screened" my whole OS so i installed Ubuntu 8.10, and here i am now... games up, says the same video card is not supported.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
