Hey there!
I heard 9.10 has a new booting deamon.

Is it safe to upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 in a completely encrypted filesystem ubuntu? The only not-encrypted partition is /boot and the rest of the partitions have been encrypted using the alternate 9.04 installation cd and following a tutorial online.

i'm afraid the new booting system can ruin my encrypted fs booting sequence.

I need the same info also for an encrypted 9.04 ubuntu netbook remix upgrade.

Thank you very much for any hint.
bye!

I doubt if anybody on here will tell you to go ahead and upgrade in the 1st place especially with encryption. Do yourself a favor back up your stuff off your computer then do a fresh install and set up the encryption on the fresh install. 9.10 has some new features which make a fresh install the best way to go. Also make sure your computer will run with a live cd and has no inherent problems that can't be fixed.
