Hi I am new to the Ubuntu world and so far. I have had ups and downs. I had to make a clean install on my computer due to the grub loader failing when I tried to dual-boot with linux.

After install it everything seemed to work fine, until after I tried to copy some of my files from my usb to my documents and pictures folder. After I did that my applications begin to faultily start. When I click on them the dock illuminates and it would pretend to load but it would quickly disappear.

I tried to run synaptic package manager from the terminal but it gave me a segmentation fault error.

I solved :o\\:D/ it by performing a sudo apt-get update in the terminal and updating my packages.
