Hi

I am relatively new to ubuntu. I am presently trying to install ubuntu 9.09 on my amd-64 bit system. Immidiately i would like to be able to s
et up my webcam that I recently brought to use with skype.

SOme details about the system.

Phenom III - triple core processor
ASUS M4A78 motherboard
Built in ATI Radeon 3300 HD graphics card
Built in sound
Quick Cam pro 9000 webcam.

I have installed ubuntu on this partition for the fourth time now. Everytime I play with the installation to make things better I loose my gr aphics and then I am unable to access anything. So I was thinking if people could help me with

1) Installations of the graphics card.

2) Possibly shifting to a runlevel 3 with a console login .. by disabling GMD. How can this be done automatically rather than using "telinit" every time.

3) How to uninstall drivers and programs from console command line. This will be a good way to test various configurations.

4) Install sound well. There seems to be a lot of problems with pulse-audio in ubuntu 9.04.

Thanks
Raja
