I just installed 2.6.32-3-generic.
What kernel version are you running on?

That's what uname -a said.

On my old laptop it's probably 2.4.x something.

I have always used the stable kernel, no matter what system I was using.

Though with Gentoo, I built my own, but it was still (supposed to be) stable... lol
