I'm a new beginer and can't describe in detail what happened, but the story is like this. A couple weeks ago I installed Ubuntu 9.04. It worked GREAT! I was really pleased with it and I also upgraded it to 9.10 without any problems. After this good experience I installed 9.10 on a 2nd computer. Seemed ok, but when I tried to install Adobe Flash player for Ubuntu from the Adobe website I got a message that the installation failed. After this I opened the Synaptic package manger to download another package for use with Skype. However I couldn't access Synaptic, got another window saying that the Flash player installation failed. It wasn't possible to access the Synaptic package manager, got only the message saying the flash player installation failed. At this point I gave up and re-installed Vista.
