Apart from testing have you started using the Ubuntu One service?

Nope, no cloudy crap for me. I prefer my privacy and freedom intact.

Cloud stuff is nice, but only with a proper implementation in Kubuntu. Until now I use dropbox.

Yes, and I think it's immensely useful.

I will probably only ever use it if I can do so fully within my own network without using the Ubuntu One remote server.

If I ever want to pay for off-site storage, it won't be Ubuntu One unless the price is right.

I am... on the verge of using it :) I also recommend to people that they use it as at least one means for backup if they are on Ubuntu :)

No. And I don't intend to until my area gets optic fibers and BT removes the 100GB bandwidth limit (damn fair usage policies.)

Don't need it. I have plenty of hard drive space. Now if I were to buy a netbook, that would be a different story.

Why aren't the 10 who voted yes speaking up? I use it, and am happy with it. It's really not that different from drop box, but it's built into karmic and it's easy to sync files between my desktop, notebook and netbook.

Where's the "I tried, and even posted for help on the forums, but still couldn't get it to work" option? :?

Yea. I use it when its actually working. It seems to have problems remembering if my computer is authorized, requiring me to reauthorize it on every boot. Sometimes it works fine though.

Mostly just because its there, so why not use it?

Nope. Didn't even test it during Karmic test. I don't need clouds. I prefer open sunshine..

I use dropbox and love it, no reason to change. That being said I signed up for a free ubuntu one account but I am not using it.

No. All my cloudy needs are currently satisfied by Gspace (a FF addon that enables you to use a Gmail account inbox as a drive on your computer. Fully integrated in Firefox. And free as the air.)

Currently using Dropbox. I have an account with Ubuntu One. I like that website very much. Since I am mostly using Mac these days, I couldnt upload my folders to Ubuntu One website. If they release some software for Mac, I will use it instead of Dropbox.

I'm trying to use it, but I can't get it to sync much at all. I have 147 megs in the folder and online and other computer only get 4 megs of it. It's using almost 100% of resources but just sends tiny blips over the net.

Dropbox would have finished this quickly and has clients for Mac and Windows machines as well. This project has quite a way to go. :(

Perfect for me, and I'm probably going to upgrade to the 50G after it's out of Beta. ( Canonical, please don't leave projects in Beta forever like Google :( )

Mostly I stick papers there so I can work on them as long as I have computer access somewhere.

When you just see Ubuntu One you tend to feel its a great service. But then whether you really need it is another story.
