Hi everyone,

Ive just reinstalled Ubuntu, but had to use a ubuntu 5.10 64 bit CD as my version 9 CD failed, i tried many times, but all failed.

Is it possible to update ubuntu, even in stages to the current version?
And how would i do this?

Thanks in advance

Any chance you can re-create a fresh copy of the latest ubuntu as a live CD ? Then you will have a better chance to do a fresh install. You HAVE copied off all valuable data, right ?

That is a non supported release and to upgrade to whatever 9 your referring would take days even if you could, and if you went to 9.10 that release should be fresh installed. Now is the 5.10 actually 8.10?

If you want the latest release 9,1o or jaunty 9.04 download again or burn a new copy of whatever version of 9 your referring to at the slowest speed.
