When I try to install Xfree86 I get an error saying I need a newer version of ld.so
Bindist version is 4.8.0

Before continuing, you will need to get a
current version of ld.so. Version 1.7.14 or
newer will do.
Please re-run 'sh Xinstall.sh' to proceed with the installation after you
have made the required updates.
How do I get a version of ld.so ? Shouldn't it have installed with gnu gcc ?
