I was reading the thread How many of you have tested karmic? (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1320555) and got the idea of creating this one.

I have reported 6 new bugs during Beta testing. None of them has been fixed. I also added my name to 3 already existing bugs. Two of them have been solved, although they are still marked as confirmed on launchpad.

Reported one, and it didn't get fixed, and the developers have steadily been ignoring it for the last three ubuntu releases (might be earlier, but that's when I first noticed it)

2 people have confirmed your bug but they didn't set it to confirmed. You can probably flip it to confirmed and that will move it along:

https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mplayer/+bug/453855

Finding other people to confirm your other bugs would probably help as well.

Thanks. I didn't know I could do that. I thought only developers/moderators could change the bug status.

Normally it's bad form for you to confirm your own bugs but if people don't know to set it confirmed I usually say something like "confirming since 3 people have seen this" or whatever.

Two observations:

1) Both bugs are related to restricted drivers. There's a limit to what the Ubuntu devs can do in this case. Did you file a bug report with nVidia?

2) Silence does not mean ignoring. Several bugs I've reported were eventually fixed even though there was silence in the report. You have to remember that a bug report is not a discussion forum. Sometimes there's simply nothing useful a dev could say.

Reported guessnet bug, resolved upstream in Debian, got sync'ed with Debian.

Reported libsmart bug, resolved upstream, fix reached Karmic.

Reported software center bug, fixed.

Reported network-manager bug, fixed.

Reported kernel-bugs, fixed.

Reported some weird boot problem, partially fixed, ongoing investigation afaik.

Reported KDE shutdown bug, fixed.

Reported if-command-not-found bug, fixed.

I also have created bugs which are less severe and/or are wishlist items. Some of them are looked at, others are not. Overall good performance on the bug activity.

And then we also have the automatic bug reports from apport. I haven't included them, but much activity is seen on those bugs.
