I'm having a peculiar installation problem karmic...
I have a couple of laptops with identical configurations here. While karmic installs and works fine on my laptop, it refuses to do so on my friends laptops (same model, same config - only difference being that I have 2Gb ram while they have 1Gb)
installation works in safe graphics mode, but the installation then always boots in safe graphics mode without desktop effects.
jaunty and previous distro's worked without a problem.
any help is appreciated.
