model CF-28. I have tried 9.04, 8.04, 7.something, etc. Alternate cd's, regular cd's, burned at different speeds to dvd and cd's. I have swapped out drives, both cd and hard drive, etc etc all result in the same problem:

It loads, i login, it freezes!! Windows installs perfectly fine, live cd's work perfectly fine. I hate windows, and want 8.04 working on this thing. any ideas?

It looks like that is some problematic hardware (http://www.uluga.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6988911).

My job requires this thing to work since my CF-18 died, so now i have Windows XP on it. I could seriously cry right now, i haven't used Windows in almost 4 years and i feel like i could vomit right now.

I see lots of people use version all the way up to 9.04 on these machines, i cant figure out what the issue is. I would say video drivers, but the live cd's work fine. So if anyone can chime in, im all ears!
