so i have ubuntu, but i downloaded kubuntu through synaptic. i updated to 9.10 karmic and now it wouldn't let me login to a KDE session. i have tried uninstalling it cleaning out the packages and reinstalling it again and still i have no luck loging into a KDE session, if anybody could shed some light on to what may be the problem on what i am not doing i would really appreciate it.

Should be in a drop down or up menu on log-in screen. Gives
you the choice of gnome or kde. I believe it is on the bottom
panel. If you had ubuntu and added kde you will get a kbuntu log-in
splash but can still have ubuntu as default. A little confusing but
I never did find a way to change log-in back to ubuntu.
