View Full Version : Are there any free Delphi IDEs out there ?

November 10th, 2009, 06:07 AM
Basically, after a few hours of research, I still have nothing in my hands ( except something called Delphi 2009, which isn't a free software ). Are there any free Delphi IDEs available for those who want to learn it, not to build business class software and things like that ? I mean, I'm doing it for fun - if I need to pay $100 just for the tools, screw it ..

Platform: Windows ( I'm not even sure if it runs on Linux )

Actually, there is a free tool called Lazarus which is similar to Delphi, and uses FreePascal. I have not yet been able to get this to work, but it's due to lack of trying.

However AFAIK, this is for Linux only. Please see this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=917702&highlight=lazarus) for more details.
