I cannot find any post about the "problem" of installing Ubuntu BUT willing not to change MBR (so install the grub bootloader on USB memory or memory card..)
!!!
In the last screen of the installation procedure, pressing "advanced", you can choose to install the grub wherever you want...it doesn't work...
any other methods?

Not quite sure what you're wanting, do you want Ubuntu on a bootable USB drive ? Your BIOS must support USB booting for that. http://www.pendrivelinux.com/ is a good resource for things you can do with a USB device

mmm..I want Ubuntu installed in my hard disk partition but bootable only by usb grub...thank you

...but using a pendrive usb...
