First, hello i just joined the forums ):P, I am rather new to Linux, and i love using it but there is a major problem that i need help with.

I don't even know if this is the right place to post this, if it isn't, I'm sorry. If it is, hooray!

I have searched google a number of times and figured it would be easier to ask.

Also, i apologize because there are probably hundreds of threads related to this very topic BUT here is my question:

I cannot get the sound to work.
I have a sound card, creative XFi extreme gamer, and from what i have heard the creative drives are crap (thanks creative).
I am using the latest version of Ubuntu, also dual booting with vista (if that even matters)
Can somebody guide me to get my sound working or point me in the direction of a VERY basic tutorial?

Remember, i am new so don't hate me :D

THANKS!

Hi, welcome to the forum.

There was a discussion over here --->> https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/50109

on your sound-card, it appears that there is a driver for it.

Hope that helps you out.

Regards,

Phill.
