I just purchased a new HP Pavilion T6600 CPU, and after paying to Upgrade Windows 7 premium to Professional, downloading XP compatability, and then finding the CPU didn't support Virtualization, I had it and installed Ubuntu 9.10. The installation went well and works fine with Gnome. I then tried installing KDE4 and it installed but I can't see the launcher window. I'm totally guessing it might have something to do with the non-standard size of the HP screen (1366 x 768). Any suggestions? Thanks.
