cannot adjust Evolution preferences

hi,

last week I have update my Ubuntu 9.04 to version 9.10 (dutch support). I am trying to adjust some preferences in Evolution but somehow I can only adjust a few preferences: for example I can add an email account but I cannot the color of the tasks which are overdue: the box for it in the preferences screen does not allow me to adjust that box.....any ideas?

I am also having this preference setting problem after installing karmic on a new computer. I copied most of my home directory from a different computer and I suspect it has something to do with an old config file or something similar. The 'guest' account I created does not have this preference setting problem. I haven't figured it out yet.
