Hi,

I am using Hardy LTS and would like to move to Karmic but the upgrade path suggested through 8.10... is really tough. Just going from Hardy to Intrepid is 904MB! and there is still Jaunty before I can hit Karmic!

Is there a way to do a new install over Hardy? I remember I went from Dapper to Hardy in one shot but I forgot how :(

I searched the Forum but could get no leads hence this new thread

Dapper to Hardy can be done because they are both LTS releases. I have already filed 3 bugs on Karmic so if I were you, I would stick with Hardy and wait for Lucid (10.04) to come out in April which is also an LTS release meaning you will be able to go right from Hardy to Lucid.

Check this link out on the proper upgrade path to take.

Dear Anarchy

That is what I did. How to load this over Hardy is the question. I have a dual boot with XP.

Dear Kilahutrz

Hi, thanks. This is the most sensible reply I have got. I guess I will wait for 10.4
