hi all,

I've been using cairo dock for a while now and love it, but suddenly it stopped working. Instead of the dock starting up properly all I get is a window called "maintenance mode". If I just click on "quit" or the X it disappears for a second, then comes back up again. The only way to get rid of it is to forcibly kill the cairo-dock process, which does not solve anything.

any thoughts on how to get it working again?

ubuntu 8.10 (to be upgraded within the month)
Xorg 1.5.2
Nvidia linux 180.11
gnome 2.24.1
anything else?

If nobody has a better idea just nuke/rename its config directory (see here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8217625&postcount=4) ) and start over...

which version are you using ?
I strongly recomend to use the one from the official repository, see the wiki at cairo-dock.org for how to use it.
