View Full Version : [ubuntu] Video performance problems in 9.10 (Karmic Koala)

Hello. I've just upgraded (online upgrade) to Karmic from 64-bit 9.04. I've got a fairly new machine: Intel Core 2 Quad Core Q9550, 4GB RAM, GeForce 9500GT video card. Resolution set at: 1680 x 1050. I've also got a lot of Compiz effects enabled.

The problem I'm experiencing is that when playing videos (mostly only tried with Xvid movies), especially when there's quick panning in the scene, there are noticeable flickering lines. My impression is that it's just rendering the image too slow, which seems a bit ridiculous given the specs of the machine and the fact that this was not noticed at all in 9.04. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Any suggestions to resolve it?
