I've installed a copy of Windows XP and iTunes inside Virtualbox. However, I'm unable to get Virtualbox to recognise my new iPod touch whenever I plug it into my laptop. Ubuntu recognises it fine, and asks me whether I want to open F-Spot to manage photographs on the device, but going to Devices->USB Devices in Virtualbox, it says that there are no devices found.

Has anybody actually got an iPod touch working through Virtualbox, and if so, how do you do it?

Thanks for any help.

Same problem here. it used to all work fine but it hasn't worked since i updated to karmic. Ubuntu sees my ipod but Virtualbox doesn't. I just upgraded to virtualbox 3.0.10 (it wasn't working with the previous version either).
I'll tell you if i find anything

The last time I checked, the open source edition (OSE) of virtualbox didn't support USB. You had to get a special version from Sun's website.
