I just tried installing Team Fortress 2 on my freshly reformatted Karmic drive, I used the installation instructions from WineHQ and got the game to run.
The problem is that my sound isn't working properly in wine, and the game *requires* sound to run, it crashes without it.
I tried rebooting the computer and this fixed the sound for a short while in game, but the sound was distorted and shifted in volume, and it finally died completely when I clicked "options", crashing the game.
Can anyone give me some help with this? My soundcard is a Sweex 5.1, and it works great in everything except for wine...
