I have tried a lot of method to record live audio on my computer but none of them seem to work..
I have tried audacity but according to the documentation i should be able to select the steror mix or wave option in the drop down box but i don't have any option other than "mic0" in that drop down box.
Is there any other way..??

I tried the tutorial given on this link..
http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Recording_audio_playing_on_the_com puter#Linux

It was pretty good... but I my alsamixer isn't showing all the devices...
what am i supposed to do. The only capture device it shows is MIC.
Have a look at the attached pic.. its the output of alsamixer on my system.
and compare it with the one given on the above link.. You will see the difference..

Why is that so??
