Is there a program in KDE that let's you have something like a Taskbar except that it either has Icons only without the text (sorry I have no screenshots) or Thumbnails like
this (http://www.lynucs.org/index.php?screen_id=140407135640c8970070189&p=screen&PHPSESSID=23d1bb98abbb8515ef6ec3ca94b87eb1)
or
this (http://www.elivecd.org/gb/Main/Screenshots/_previews/elive-8.jpg.html)?
There's something like it in KDE called Tasbar v2 (http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=31611) but it's still based on the regular taskbar applet and the thumbnails only pop up when you mouse over the window titles.

Yes, that is called a dock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dock_%28computing%29). Most well known from OS X. You have a couple different choices.

Avant Window Navigator (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avant_Window_Navigator) - Considered *the* Linux dock
Kiba Dock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiba-dock)
KXDocker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KXDocker)
