Hi,

I have dealt for years with Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems and I was always fascinated with the "polishness", the cleanness and the quality of icons both Windows Vista and Mac OSX have

Now, I have recently installed Ubuntu and it is fast and great and I am trying to learn more and more about the system but what bothers me is the whole look and feel of the GUI. It looks amateur to me ... a little bit rough..

I have learned that Ubuntu is highly customizable. Can you guide me to the best sources and example of desktop themes for Ubuntu?

thanks in advance

Here is a starting point:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1307937
It shows users' desktops and ui configurations

Also you can check this: http://gnome-look.org/.

Have a look at this page for some very nice integrated themes - window decorations, wallpaper and icons:

http://www.bisigi-project.org/ (http://www.bisigi-project.org/?lang=en)

Click on the install tab for instructions as to how you can add the ppa repository so that you can install the themes from Synapic - or the terminal.
