Hi,
I'm a newbie here so there is a good chance that this is a dumb question... appologies if that is the case!

I have installed Ubuntu 9.10 no problem, then used the "USB startup disk creator" to make a bootable pendrive copy that i can use on my work computer - company uses winXP.

my problem: whenever i try to boot from the pendrive a window pops up asking me if i want to install Ubuntu onto whichever machine it is pluged into. if i tell it to continue without installing it eventually boots and takes me to my portable copy of ubuntu.

is there any way to stop the repeated requests to install ubuntu from the pendrive?

any assistance greatly recieved!

Hi again,
to clarify i think i am looking to find out which of the files on the pendrive i need to remove so that it stops prompting for installation on boot.

cheers
Tom
