Ok, so I want a new graphics card. Things are running ok on my current chipset, but I want to future proof my machine a bit, and make games run a bit better.

My current Grahpics chip is an integrated Ati Radeon Xpress 200 chipset, with no dedicated memory, and a 300Mhz clock.

These are what I'm looking at at the moment

http://www.amazon.co.uk/PALIT-GEFORCE-9400GT-PCI-EXPRESS-GRAPHICS/dp/tech-data/B001HN3268/ref=de_a_smtd?ie=UTF8&m=A17AS5ETPMZ9A1

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Inno3D-GeForce-Graphics-PCI-Express-128-Bit/dp/tech-data/B001I902M8/ref=de_a_smtd

Will any of these be much of an improvement? And do anyone know how well they'll work with Jaunty?

If you can advise a better card, for the same kind of money, I'd be very grateful :)

Thanks for any advice, I'm a n00b graphics card wise :) :lolflag:

Fixed the links for you :).

I've got a palit geforce 8500gt in one box, it plays really nice with ubuntu and proprietary drivers, though not the same one you post, I believe it's close enough to serve as a reference.

Inno3D I've never heard of, but I don't see why it shouldn't work, too (9400gt).

None of look future-proof, though, but if I had to pick one from the list, I'd go with the palit GeForce 9400GT.

My $0.02, I guess.

+1 on the palit 9400GT 1GB.

You will notice a difference in games, for sure.

They'll be future proof for my needs I think, I don't do any serious gaming. Thanks, now I wish Christmas would just hurry on :)
