View Full Version : [ubuntu] Contents of /root/

Hi guys,

First time post, so please forgive my ignorance/noobness!

I had some problems logging in. Errors about .ICEAuthority. Turns out it was because autologin had somehow enabled itself, and i think it couldn't access the file because it hadn't decrypted my home folder. Turned autologin off and that's now fixed.

In trying to clean up the mess i created whilst trying to fix the problem, I ran some programs (eg firefox) using sudo.

Now everything's fixed, i'm looking to clean up stuff. I noticed in the "/root/" folder, there's some directories called things like ".mozilla", ".macromedia", and ".adobe". I imagine these aren't there by default, and have been added when I ran maybe firefox as root?

I'd like to get rid of these directories, but i'm just wondering if there are any files in /root/ that I shouldn't delete? Can I empty the whole folder, or will I break something if I do?
