I've just purchased an Acer Aspire 5738Z with Windows 7 installed. I intend to install Ubuntu on it but seem to remeber when I did it on my previous machine, a Dell Inspiron, it rendered the recovery pertition inoperable.
This Acer, I notice, has a 11gig partition called PQservice - nothing in the user guide about it but googling lend me to believe it is part of the recovery system.
Has anyone got Ubuntu dual booting on one of these machines and does it impair the recovery partition. If it has, does anyone know if it will still be possible to recover the unit using the recovery discs made from Acer eRecovery?
Any info before I start, pointing out any other pitfalls would be great too :D
PS Does the webcam work under Ubuntu - can't find anything when booting from Live CD
