I remember once I could switch from using KDE's compiz manager and Compiz Config Settings Manager; the one I use in Gnome. Now, I can't find the option (using Karmic, KDE-Minimal). If this is not here because it's the minimal version, so be it. If so, another question: where can I set the panel preview to use mipmaps and to disable the title from appearing in the preview? It's not an existing option in the "system settings" window.

sudo apt-get install compiz-kde compizconfig-settings-manager

To easily switch between compiz and kwin, install and run fusion-icon:

sudo apt-get install fusion-icon
