In Karmic, they moved the volume control to the "Notifications" area. This annoys me...it seems that Notifications should be where actual notifications occur, and not random control-panel applets.
Does anybody know of a way to remove these elements from Notifications, and put them where I want on the panel? It would be very appreciated. I'd love to have my volume control back the way it was in Jaunty. If possible, I'd like to also move my network-control somewhere else, where I want it.
Related point--Karmic has been a large disappointment for me, for many reasons. It feels like they're made a number of design decisions that destroy customizability, and I'd like to express concern against that. Where is an appropriate place to do this? Obviously the designers are working hard, and I don't want to annoy them. And it seems obnoxious to start a new bug report for every little thing that offends my personal tastes. But surely there must be some place to give feedback?
