View Full Version : Rendering Interactive Distored Windows in Linux?

Hello all.

Is it possible to alter the rendering of windows, within Linux in general, so that they appear distorted but are still fully functional?

I would like to take every window and give them perspective on the desktop to that they appear to be sitting on a concave surface. For example, imagine the desktop is projected on the inside of sphere and your head is in the middle of that sphere.

The window manager is not important at this point in my efforts.

I've seen many fancy desktop manipulations within Linux, but what I'm not clear on is if programs are still interactive when they are distorted onto a 3D mesh.

If anyone has any links and/or information on such a capability, I would greatly appreciate the help!

Thanks much!

Thank you napsy.

I've started my search for XDamage information. If you have any sites that show off the features, like videos I can show to convince the people who hold the money, please forward them on!

Thanks again! =)
