Hi all,
When I installed Karmic I decided not to do the encryption offered at the install and I 'd do it later.
From what I can see it has to be done at the install time...is this correct?
If not can somebody point me to a howto so I can do my /home.
Thanks
Drew

Kind of, I believe you can still setup your home directory as an encrypted directory, but you must backup your entire directory (including the hidden . directories) since the encryption process will essentially "reformat" the directory. I have never personally encrypted the directory after installing, you may want to see if anyone else can enlighten us a little more on the process, however, I did find a couple of hopefully useful guides:
http://blog.gnist.org/article.php?story=EncryptedSwapAndHomeUbuntu
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EncryptedFilesystemHowto3
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/EncryptedPrivateDirectory
The last may help you in a round-about way. It shows how to setup a encrypted "private" directory: ~/.private
