View Full Version : [ubuntu] How to Build a custom kernel in ubuntu 9.10

Hi every one

I am using the netbook-remix version of Ubuntu 9.10 and i need to build the custom kernel of my own, by downloading the kernel source from www.kernel.org

Please some one help me with the step by step procedure how to do so...
It will be helpfull, thanks in advance..

I am having the 2.6.31.5 kernel which i have downloaded from www.kernel.org

i am trying to create a custom image for the downloaded kernel so please help in the regarding issue

harish, you are not going to find many people here who are willing to baby you through steps that are already outlined on other websites (see the second link I posted.)

By all means have a go and if you have a specific issue then let us know.

There are plenty of excellent guides around for you to use.
