Customizing ubuntu question

Um Once i saw this really cool cube thing for ubuntu for the different desktops like a 3d cube that drops back so you can select 1 of like 6 desktops. anyone know what the name of that thing is.

Also I was wondering if ubuntu had a sidebar like windows or widgets like mac?
