Noise at start up

Hi!
I installed successfully karmic on a new partition in my desktop pc.
My only trouble is at start: a noise instead of ubuntu sound (drumroll, I think).
On my pc there are an integrated sound card and a tv tuner card (both recognized as sound cards after booting).
Well, after log in the right sound card work correctly, but during start up it seems that ubuntu use tv tuner intead of sound card: noise is as an analogic tv out of tune.
I'm a very beginner with ubuntu: please help me!

really no one can help me? Perhaps i didn't clearly explain my trouble? Or my issue is too newby for an answer?...

Your guess could be right, the log-in is using the first sound card it comes to, and the right one only shows up went the log in is finished. I am afraid I can't really help though...:(
