Newbie checking in with a hopefully minor problem. I know that Ubuntu 9.10 is out, however I had already created an ISO disk of ver. 9.04. Anyway I installed it last night as a dual boot configuration along side Win Xp. I partitioned 18Gig of HDD space for Ubuntu and then let the installation proceed. Upon completion of the installation it prompted me to remove the disk and restart the computer. When the OS listing screen shows up it shows the Win Xp Pro option along with the Ubuntu options (normal mode) and (recovery mode).

Now, I choose the Ubuntu OS the screen then changes to a flashing cursor with a black background and just stays there. The computer at this point appears to be locked, which then forces me to shut down via the power button. My Win Xp Pro works fine. Now if I run the Live CD Ubuntu works with no problem.

Have I screwed some thing up?

Here are the spec for the machine that I am running it on.
Dell Optiplex 320
2 gig ram
80 gig HDD
ATI x1600 PCI-E
WinTV PCI card
Dell 16" CRT

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
