View Full Version : [ubuntu] Network cards not detected or something...

so after a painstaking procces i finaly get ubuntu to work on my laptop but now i have no internet.

i tried ndiswrapper but terminal said somthing about no such directory found i have the tar.gz sitting on my desktop but well terminal doesnt seem to notice.

im dual booting with vista, i have ubuntu installed with wubi,my laptop is a Toshiba P505 i have a Atheros AR8131 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller
and a Intel(R) WiFi Linj 5100 AGN
im using the 32bit version of ubuntu and vista home premium 64bit

ok so i got the AR81Family-linux-v1.0.0.10.tar.gz but i have no idea how to install it.... somtihng about compiling something or another but i dont know i got the driver from http://partner.atheros.com/Download.aspx?id=103 but if i have to use the terminal for this ima major nub when it comes to using it so even when it comes to cd comands im kinda lost
