Hi there.

I know that Jaunty comes with the possibility to install Alfresco-community from the canonical repository. After upgrading 9.04 server to 9.10 server the alfresco application was removed from my system and there's no alfresco-community package in the canonical repository.

What's happening? Alfresco is no longer supported by canonical? I thought they were working together to delliver an ECM to the ubuntu community.

By the way ubuntu server + Alfresco is a killer system because these are two excellent products dellivered to the community.

I saw some posts talking about alfresco in the cloud with ubuntu in Amazon webservices... but I couldn't understand it.

Thanks all for your help and any help is welcome.
Best regards from Portugal.

I agree. I have Alfresco working on a test Windows machine but would like to roll it out across the department on a Ubuntu box running 9.10.

I could manually configure it but that takes too long and I'll probably mess it all up along the way.

Any news on when it'll reappear in the Ubuntu repositories?

I still can't find it for karmic in the partner repo (Sources (http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/dists/karmic/partner/source/Sources) or Packages 64 (http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/dists/karmic/partner/binary-amd64/Packages))

whereas it's still there for jaunty (Sources (http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/dists/jaunty/partner/source/Sources))

Am I missing someting or was it removed overnight ?

I am also keen to try out Alfresco under Ubuntu, but would prefer to wait for it to be a "standard" install. When are we likely to see in back in the repository?
Does anyone have any info on the reason for withdrawal?
Cheers.

Still no sign of progress on the packages.
I have found that Jarhed Ottley's blog (http://jared.ottleys.net/alfresco/alfresco-community-3-2-ubuntu-package-explained) is a good source of info.
I finally managed to get Alfresco installed manually, following a fairly detailed "how-to" on Howtoforge (http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-install-alfresco-community-3.3-on-ubuntu-server-10.04-lucid-lynx). But I would much prefer to manage it through the apt package tree.
