Due to a failure during the upgrade from 9.04 -> 9.10 I installed
9.10. Unfortunately are a few problems
Kwalletmanager does not work. This is very bad for me as I store a LOT
of stuff in there and I need it asap. Running the "kwalletmanager"
program produces nothing. No output, no icon in the system tray, no
nothing. I did a forced removal with synaptic & reinstalled but no go.
Sound, a common problem I know but I installed the realtek driver. I
ran the device chooser. I maxed out sliders in the alamixer. The chip set
is ALC888 and the correct kernel is in operation. If I cannot get this
thing to work how about some guidance on inexpensive sound cards that
you personally have had working. (paranoia I know but...)
