Screen brightness jumping after upgrade

hello,

any advice on fixing this:

since i upgraded to 9.10 my msi wind screen blinks after startup (brightness goes +1, -1, +1, -1, ...), until i open some program, then it stops jumping. Same thing happens when coming back from suspend.

how do i find out what's wrong?

I've got the same issue. I've tried to change the boot configurations in my menu.lst but it didn't solve the problem.

what kind of laptop do u have?

also, i tried to reduce brightness when computer is on, and it started jumping again. and what's weird is that opening ubuntu menu for few seconds stops the blinking (but if i do nothing it can continue for an hour)..

It's exactly the same on my laptop (msi wind U100 with xubuntu) since the upgrade...

Does anyone have an idea ?
