Hi friends,

I would like to have your opinion about an idea. I will soon receive a 1 To usb external Hdd. To avoid fragmentation problem I think of formatting it in ext2, or ext3 or reiderfs in place of ntfs (defragmenting 1 To of space must take a too many long time and in my country we often have sudden power outage).
This Hdd will only serve for backup and will be less frequently used (I already have 280 Go) but I try to think of future. I know that with linux file system, fragmentation appear only when storage space start to be problematic and it's the reason why I wanted to choose those file system. But as I also work with windows Xp, I thought that with virtual machine, I could copy file from the Hdd and windows.

Please, tell me what you think about all that.
